Investigations Underway for Hit-and-Run Incidents Involving Cyclists and BMW Driver

The Singapore Police Force is currently investigating two separate hit-and-run incidents that occurred in recent days, prompting public appeals for information regarding the involved parties.

Cyclists on Townshend Road

At approximately 3.50pm on 29 January 2024, a pair of cyclists were captured on video in an alleged hit-and-run accident on Townshend Road, Lavender. The footage from the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page shows the male cyclist, dressed in black, in close proximity to a female cyclist as they rode against the flow of traffic.

  • The male cyclist was seen grabbing the female’s arm before they reportedly lost control and crashed into an oncoming vehicle.
  • Following the incident, the male cyclist gestured apologetically to the driver before both cyclists left the scene without their bicycles.
  • After being informed that police were called, they returned to offer contact details, but fled again.

No injuries were reported in this incident. The police confirmed they are actively trying to trace both cyclists as investigations continue.

Rochor BMW Hit-and-Run

A separate hit-and-run incident involved a white BMW saloon car around 3am on 1 February 2024, at the intersection of Middle Road and Queen Street. Reports indicate the car had self-skidded and mounted a road divider before the driver reportedly abandoned the vehicle.

  • Images on social media show a BMW i4 compact executive car stopped on the road divider, with police vehicles present at the scene.
  • While there were no injuries reported, authorities are working to locate the driver who fled before police arrived.

The police have assured that both investigations are ongoing and are appealing to the public for any information related to these cases.
