As tensions rise in Kashmir following a series of deadly blasts, Indian authorities are ramping up security measures across the region. Raids on Jamaat-e-Islami
Beginning on 12 November 2024, police conducted sweeping searches across various districts in Indian-administered Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government banned the JeI in 2019, labelling it an “unlawful association.” Authorities have reported:
- Operations in districts such as Awantipora, Bandipora, and Sopore.

- Over 30 locations searched during these raids.

Recent Explosive Incidents
Compounding the crisis, at least nine individuals died when a stockpile of explosives accidentally detonated at a police station in Kashmir. The explosion, which occurred on 15 November, involved personnel examining confiscated explosives:
- The blast resulted in fatalities among police, forensic staff, and government officials.
- The police chief, Nalin Prabhat, confirmed it was an accidental explosion, dismissing any militant connections.
This tragic incident occurred just days after the New Delhi blast, which officials have deemed a terrorist act, leaving authorities on high alert.

The National Investigation Agency, leading the probe into the Delhi explosion, aims to uncover potential links to international terrorist groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
