According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), they were alerted to the blaze at approximately 11.45am. Firefighters extinguished the flames using two water jets. Grace Wu, a spokesperson for SBS Transit, confirmed that the bus involved was off-service, with no passengers aboard.
Traffic Impact
- The fire occurred before the Clementi Road exit, heading towards Tuas.
- Traffic congestion reached Adam Road, with the Land Transport Authority advising motorists to avoid the second to fourth lanes.
Visual Accounts
Footage provided by onlookers showed black smoke and flames emanating from the bus. Videos captured the dramatic scene, showcasing the large flames from the bus’s rear as motorists passed by.
