A Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight bound for Tokyo faced an unexpected detour due to a cracked windshield mid-flight. Flight SQ636, which took off from Changi Airport, needed to divert to Taipei on the morning of 28 October 2024.

Flight Details

The Boeing 777-300ER was carrying 249 passengers and 17 crew members. It left Changi Airport at 11.07pm on 27 October and was scheduled to arrive at Haneda Airport at 6.20am the following day. However, due to the cracked windshield, the flight landed “uneventfully” at Taoyuan International Airport in Taipei around 4am local time.
