Details of the Accident

The car passenger, a 28-year-old woman, suffered severe injuries and was taken to Sengkang General Hospital, where she later died. The driver, who was conscious during his transport to Changi General Hospital, faced an investigation for illegal items found in the vehicle.

Discovery of E-vaporisers

  • More than 1,000 e-vaporisers and components were found in the car.

Responses from Authorities

According to the Singapore Police Force, the bus, part of Go-Ahead Singapore’s service, was at a traffic light when struck. Fortunately, the bus captain and the ten passengers were unharmed. The bus captain even used a fire extinguisher to manage smoke coming from the car’s engine.

The discovery of illegal e-vaporisers has raised alarms. Per the Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act, importing, distributing, and selling e-vaporisers is prohibited in Singapore, with serious penalties for violators. First-time offenders may face fines up to S$10,000 or imprisonment.

With investigations ongoing, authorities are urging individuals to comply with the laws regarding e-vaporisers to ensure public safety.
