In a recent announcement, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) revealed that Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates will increase by S$1 at four expressway locations starting from 2 January 2026. This increase comes as part of ongoing adjustments to manage traffic flow effectively in Singapore.
Details of the ERP Increase
- The increase affects the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), Central Expressway (CTE), Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE), and Pan Island Expressway (PIE).
- This rate revision is applicable for nine different time periods during peak hours.
- For instance, the KPE (ECP) gantry after Defu flyover will see rates rise to S$5 between 8am and 8:30am.
Traffic Conditions Prompt Rate Changes
According to the LTA, traffic congestion has been monitored closely, revealing that speeds have dipped below optimal levels. As a result, this adjustment aims to alleviate traffic build-up on major expressways.
Temporary Holiday Rates Adjustment
In light of the upcoming December school holidays, from 24 November to 31 December, ERP rates will temporarily decrease by S$1 at six locations along the AYE, CTE, PIE, and KPE. This temporary relief is designed to ease travel during the festive season.
These rates will revert to current levels as of 2 January 2026, following the holiday period.
