The National Gallery Singapore has reopened parts of its premises following a fire incident on 9 September 2024. The swift response by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) helped ensure that no injuries occurred and that all artwork remained unharmed.

Details of the Incident
The fire originated from an electrical control panel located on the first level, within staff access areas. It was brought under control by the gallery’s emergency response team using a dry powder fire extinguisher, prior to SCDF’s arrival.
The gallery assured the public that “the safety of our visitors, staff, and collections remains our highest priority.
