NDP 2025 Celebrations Expand with Majulah Singapura Theme and Spectacular Aerial Displays

This year’s National Day Parade (NDP) promises to be a spectacular affair as it celebrates Singapore’s 60th anniversary with unprecedented festivities that stretch from the Padang to Marina Bay.

New Era for NDP Festivities

For the first time, the live NDP show will expand to the Marina Bay area on National Day, 9 August 2024, allowing more Singaporeans to join in the celebrations. This year’s theme, Majulah Singapura, encourages reflection on the past six decades while looking forward with optimism.

Key Highlights of NDP 2025

  • Jump of Unity: The Red Lions and naval divers will perform a coordinated aerial display, landing at the Padang and Marina Bay.
  • Immersive Experience: The parade will feature water floats, a mobile floating stage, and spectacular light projections and fireworks illuminating the city skyline.
  • Largest Number of Contingents: This year will showcase the largest contingent to date, including a special aerial tribute from the Republic of Singapore Air Force.
  • Live Broadcasts: For those unable to attend, large LED screens and audio systems at Marina Bay will ensure that everyone can enjoy the festivities.

Carnival Vibes Across the Island

On 10 August, additional celebrations will take place across five community sites islandwide, featuring the mobile column with displays from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and Home Team. Events will include interactive booths, carnival games, and fireworks.

Community Spirit

Colonel Chong Shi Hao, chairman of the NDP 2025 executive committee, emphasized the importance of unity, saying, “We want to give Singaporeans an opportunity to demonstrate the national spirit as well as give back to society.” The celebrations aim to highlight shared values and inspire future generations.

Music and Cultural Integration

The theme song for this year, Here We Are, co-written by local artists Charlie Lim and Chok Kerong, showcases the theme of community and solidarity among Singaporeans. The music video is set in a school hall, reflecting the shared experiences of different generations.

“We invite all Singaporeans to come together to celebrate our nation’s birthday,” said Col Chong, echoing the sentiment of inclusivity and national pride.
