Suspicious Parcel Prompts Evacuation at Al-Istiqamah Mosque in Serangoon North

SINGAPORE—The Al-Istiqamah Mosque was the centre of attention on 24 September 2024, after a suspicious parcel was discovered on its premises, leading to a swift evacuation by authorities. At around 5.20pm, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) was alerted about the situation and took immediate action.

Police and SCDF Respond

Upon arrival, officers found the unknown parcel and promptly evacuated the mosque. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was also on-site, employing their hazardous materials, or HazMat, specialists to assess the situation. Authorities cordoned off the area for public safety.
