SINGAPORE: In a significant reshuffle, the Public Service Division (PSD) announced several new permanent secretary appointments, effective 1 October 2024. At the forefront is Mr Tan Chye Hee, who will take on dual roles.
New Appointments
- Tan Chye Hee: Appointed Permanent Secretary (Home Affairs Development) at the Ministry of Home Affairs and concurrently at the Ministry of Digital Development and Information.
- Aubeck Kam: Will relinquish his role as Permanent Secretary (Home Affairs Development) but remains Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Social and Family Development.
- Chng Kai Fong: Re-designated as Permanent Secretary (Development) at the Ministry of Digital Development and Information.
Career Highlights of Tan Chye Hee
At 52, Tan has a robust background in public service. His career includes:
- Director of the Internal Security Department since 2020.
- Deputy Commissioner of Police for Investigations and Intelligence from 2015 to 2020.
- Various roles in the Singapore Police Force and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Aubeck Kam and Chng Kai Fong
Aubeck Kam, 54, has a history with top roles across several ministries. Notably, he will continue at the Ministry of Social and Family Development where he has served since April 2022.
Chng Kai Fong, aged 46, will continue his concurrent appointment in the Prime Minister’s Office, focusing on Smart Nation initiatives and Cybersecurity as well.
